Top 10 2008 dominican athletes

Dominican daily newspaper"Hoy" chose the 10 most prominent dominican athletes during 2008.
This is the list:
1) Felix Diaz: Dominican boxer won the second gold medal at the Olympic Games beating Thai Manus Boonjummung 12-4 in the final.

2) Gabriel Mercedes (Karate): He won the first silver medal to Dominican Republic in the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

3) Albert Pujols: This dominican slugger won his second "MVP" playing in MLB for St. Louis Cardinals batting .357 record, 37 home runs and 116 RBIs.

4) Al Horford: Dominican center who plays for the Atlanta Hawks, was second in voting by the "Rookie of the Year award in the NBA and was the star of five rookies.

5) Manny Ramírez: Boston Red Sox's slugger in May, reached the coveted mark of 500 home runs in the elderly. He is the third dominican who reach this mark Before Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez.

6) Luis Polonia: Playing with Aguilas Cibaeñasr introduced over 878 hits and more runs scored (497) lifetime in dominican baseball league.

7) Yudelquis Contreras: Weightlifter who finished fifth in the weight of 53 kilos in the Olympic Games in China.
