29 nominees to Dominican Sports Hall of Fame

The Standing Committee of the Hall of Fame Dominican Sport unveiled the list of candidates to be immortalized at the 43th version to be held on Sunday 18 October.

The announcement was made by Luis Scheker Ortiz, president of the Hall of Fame Sports Dominican, who emphasized that since the voting ballots were distributed for members of the press to choose the next immortal.

He said that this year's list of candidates up to 29 ex-athletes, who in his days of glory buffed to the Dominican Republic in national and international events.

Male and female athletes of the Dominican Republic swept in IX Championship of the Antilles Fitness and therapeutic exercises performed last Sunday at The Grand Arena del Cibao to win the most first places.
The highest was Novoa Méndez from Santiago, absolute champion of the heavy category, in a though fight against Rafael Cabrera (El Bronco) from Santo Domingo, who came second.
In third place was the Puerto Rican Juan Vega, dominican Luis Fernandez, was third.
