Dominican Republic Plays in Argentine Soccer Tournament

The Manuel Ubaldo Gomez School from Jarabacoa has been taking part in the Coca Cola Cup International Cup that takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The team hander who has rubbed shoulders with renowned selected from the region has participated in two meetings and although it has fallen in both, has shown great level of play.

In their game with the selection of Nicaragua selected Manuel Ubaldo Gomez School began winning the first half of the game with 4-2 slate. In the first few minutes the Dominicans put the score 3-0, but could not maintain that advantage bravely defended.

In their first game Dominicans were measured at the powerhouse and Honduras during the first part of the match played very closely despite the Honduran champions had three members of the U-17 national team.

The match ended 6-0 to Honduras for the players wear Dominicans who had played on Friday morning before the match against Nicaragua and Honduras was in the afternoon.


The event takes place in Argentina's capital began last Friday and since then the Dominican team has been a big pride by Dominicans as an example and pride for the entire country for their hard work, courage and dedication.

Selected members of the Manuel Ubaldo Gomez School had the opportunity to share with soccer star Claudio Goicoechea, former Argentine national team, recognized worldwide as one of the best goalkeepers in soccer history.
