Amputated Haitians Play Soccer

The earthquake of January 12, 2010 has marked even the residents of Haiti. Some of them lost limbs as a witness of what happened that day.

However, despite this situation, that has not stopped them to continue playing with such passion that performed before the disaster.

Two teams of football, Zary and selection, no officer of amputees in this sport, Haiti, clashed yesterday, a fact which undoubtedly are thrilled to Paralympic sports movement.

Several players from both teams lost a member in the earthquake of magnitude 7.0 on the Richter scale, which left 300,000 people dead and millions homeless.

"That is good news, "said public relations director of the Dominican Paralympic Committee, Juan Luis Rodríguez.

The loss of members of the body is the least, he understands Rodriguez. "No matter the physical condition, competition, the spirit of the person is the basics, that's what we fight, " Rodriguez said.
