Beltre Signed with Texas Rangers

Adrian Beltre

Dominican Adrian Beltre was presented Wednesday by the Texas Rangers after agreeing a contract for six years and $ 96 million with the American League champions.

"We all know that the Rangers have an excellent team, " said the third baseman. "I want to win. The team is willing to do whatever it takes to take the next step. That was one of the factors that made my decision easier to come here. "

Twice Gold Glove winner, the dominican hit .321 with 49 doubles, 28 homers and 102 RBIs in 154 games in his only season with the Red Sox. He was a member of the All-Star for the first time in his career of 13 seasons.

Beltre earned a salary of $ 14 million this year from 15 in 2012, 16 in 2012, 17 in 2014, 18 in 2015 and 16 in 2016.

Texas will be able to void the final season of the contract if Beltre can not accumulate 1,200 plate appearances in 2014-15 to 600 in 2015.

Beltre became a free agent after rejecting a choice of 10 million dollars he had as a player to stay with Boston.
