Celtics Defeated Lakers

Paul Pierce scored 32 points, Kevin Garnett had 18 points and 13 rebounds playing with a large bandage over a cut on his head, and the Boston Celtics won 109-96 Sunday to Los Angeles Lakers despite Kobe Bryant scored 41 points .

Ray Allen scored 21 points for the Celtics in the first confrontation between longtime adversaries since Los Angeles erased a 13 points to win by 83-79 to Boston in the seventh game of the championship series in NBA Last June, ending it in a dramatic way.

Bryant got his point 27,000, but could not turn to his teammates and lost to the best team in the AL East.

The spanish Pau Gasol had 12 points for the Lakers, who lost for the fourth time in their last seven games.
