Celtics Trade Perkins

Just before
the trading deadline of 3 pm This Thursday, the Boston Celtics agreed to send the center Kendrick Perkins and defender Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jeff Green and the big man Nenad Krstic, as indicated by two league sources.

The director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said the Celtics on Wednesday that Perkins will be out at least a week to hurt the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

It is a sort of homecoming for Green. He was drafted by the Celtics in the first round (fifth overall shift) of the 2007 draft. But it was changed to Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West to the then Seattle SuperSonics for Ray Allen and Glen Davis.

The search for the Celtics of a perimeter player intensified when it became apparent that Marquis Daniels could miss the rest of the season with a spinal injury.

The Thunder also made a change in which Morris Peterson sent to Charlotte, but it was unclear whether it was part of a three-way deal between Thunder, Celtics and Bobcats.

Green averaged 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season as third choice behind the Thunder Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. In his third season in the league, averaged 14.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
