Argentina and Japan Will Play in July

the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced today the postponement to the July round of the women's Fed Cup Japan-Argentina, scheduled in Tokyo for 16 to April 17 due to the earthquake and tsunami that have hit to China.

The confrontation of the first round of World Group II will take place between 16 and 17 July, two weeks after Wimbledon, at a venue yet to be confirmed.

This decision was taken following talks with the federations of Japan and Argentina, as well as the global circuit (WTA).

Italian Francesco Ricci Bitti, ITF President said that "given the dire and exceptional circumstances" are considered "important to give the JTA (Japan Federation) the opportunity to host the tie" and thanked the cooperation of both countries.
