Dominican Baseball Killer Released from Jail


The dominican reliever pitcher Alfredo Simon may leave prison after appeals court in Puerto Plata on Thursday granted bail on a charge of manslaughter.


The Judges established a bond of two million pesos (53,000 dollars) to Simon, who was in custody since January.

"We are pleased with the decision of the appellate court and we will prove the innocence of our client," said the AP's lawyer Simon, Dinora Diloné.


The pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles was not immediately released Diloné indicated that in the coming hours will be paid the bond.
