Dominicans climb Mount Everest


With 28, 31 and 33 pounds lighter, after nine hours of flight on the route from Madrid to Santo Domingo, exactly two months apart from family, work and friends, but full of appreciation for the acomplished work, the three dominicans who rose the highest point on Earth arrived to the Dominican Republic.

Karim Mella, the first Dominican to reach the summit of Mount Everest, Ivan Gomez, who did it 40 minutes later, on May 20, and Federico Jovine, whom the technical and health problems prevented him from reaching the top, were received as heroes.

The Dominican trio achieved their goal in a month where four other climbers have died trying to reach the closest point to heaven.

Two months sleeping on the floor, with temperatures below zero,with influenza, altitude sickness, burns on their faces. One of the obstacles that prevented the trio achieved the target in the first attempt were winds over 80 miles per hour at 8.848 meters above sea level in the Himalayas.

Small Cars are safer in USA


The
